Asian Ceremony Customs Explained

Asiatic ceremonies are a rebellion of colors, fun filled activities and are full of practices. They usually last for a month and are ostentatious events. Several pre wedding rituals have to be performed before the actual marriage day like engagement ceremony, musical evening ( sangeet ) and henna party. All these times are accompanied by live music and are enjoyed with tremendous hype.

As per ancient Chinese custom the pair had first arrange for an opportune time according to jin hua, a conversation with cosmology and spirits that determines the most suitable date for marriage. Then the couple’s part is required to take a number of gifts that may contain meal, cakes and religious items.

On the marriage time, it is typical for the bride to be escorted down the aisle by her kids with gifts and flower wreaths. Her dress is usually red, a coloring that represents like, success, loyalty dating indian women and honour. A qipao, or Northern- tone outfit, is even usually worn by the current bride.

The bride is typically conducted at a temple and the bride and groom sell decorated twigs of Sakaki, a sacred trees that symbolises chance, fertility, harmony and fortune to the ancestors. Then a priest pours gold tinted rice and turmeric on the couple to bless them for a prosperous life together.

A tea ceremony to honour the families of the bride and groom is sometimes done during the wedding or three days after it. It’s a lovely gesture and an opportunity for the new couple to reassure their parents that they are happy in their choice of spouse.
